Signs It's Time to Replace, Not Repair

Age. Systems 10 to 15 years old, or anything still running R-22 refrigerant, are nearing the end of their efficient service life, and the cost of repairs often stops making sense.
Rising repair costs. If you've called for repairs more than once in the last two summers, the math often favors replacement.
Uneven cooling. Rooms that never cool down can point to a system that was undersized or mismatched to the home from the start.
High summer bills. An aging or oversized unit works harder and less efficiently than a correctly sized one.

Sized Right, Not Guessed At

Before we recommend equipment, we run a load calculation on your home rather than matching the size of the unit you already have. An oversized system short-cycles, cools the air without removing humidity, and wears out faster. An undersized one runs constantly and still can't keep up on the hottest days. We also walk you through SEER efficiency ratings, so you can see what a higher-efficiency system saves on energy costs over the life of the equipment.

Central AC, Heat Pump or Ductless Mini-Split

Most homes with ductwork are a good fit for a central AC replacement. If you want one system for both heating and cooling, ask about a heat pump. Additions, converted spaces and homes without ducts are often better served by a ductless mini-split. We install all three, and we'll tell you honestly which one fits your home.

If both systems are near the end of their life, replacing them together can make sense, because the indoor and outdoor equipment are designed to work as a matched system. How much does a new air conditioner cost?

The price depends on the size of your home, the efficiency of the system and the condition of your ductwork. We offer a free on-site estimate and give you a written quote. Request a free estimate.

How long does AC installation take?

Most installations are completed in a single day.

What size air conditioner do I need?

It depends on your home, not on the size of your old unit. We run a load calculation that accounts for the home's size, insulation, windows and layout, so the system isn't oversized or undersized.

What does SEER mean?

SEER is a rating of cooling efficiency. A higher SEER means the system uses less electricity to deliver the same cooling. We'll show you how different efficiency levels compare on energy costs.

Should I get a heat pump instead of a central AC?

A heat pump cools like an air conditioner and also provides heat, so it can be a good fit in the right home. We'll compare it with a standard AC and furnace setup for your situation. See heat pump installation.

Do you offer financing?
