Heating and Air Conditioning Service in Salt Lake City

Homes in the Salt Lake Valley and Davis County ask a lot of their HVAC systems: cold, snowy winters that keep a furnace running for months, then hot, dry summers that push an air conditioner to its limit. Aireo repairs, replaces and maintains furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers and thermostats for homeowners from Salt Lake City and Murray to Bountiful, Kaysville and Layton.

Our HVAC team is led by Kyle Isom, who has more than ten years of hands-on HVAC experience. Aireo is backed by Salmon Mechanical, a Utah company that has handled demanding commercial HVAC and plumbing work for over 40 years.

Heating Problems We Fix

Most heating calls come down to a short list of failures:

  • No heat or a furnace that won't stay on
  • Short cycling, where the furnace turns on and off every few minutes
  • Cold air from the vents when the thermostat is calling for heat
  • Banging, squealing or rattling, including a worn blower or fan motor
  • Uneven heat from room to room, or weak airflow
  • Energy bills climbing with no change in how you use your home

See our full furnace repair page, or boiler repair & service if your home has radiators or in-floor heat. Heat pump not heating or icing up? See heat pump repair.

Air Conditioning Problems We Fix

When temperatures climb into the triple digits, small problems show up fast. We regularly diagnose:

  • An AC that runs all day but can't keep up, often a dirty filter, a clogged outdoor coil or a failing component
  • An AC that won't start or hums without running, frequently a worn capacitor
  • New rattling, buzzing, grinding or squealing from the indoor or outdoor unit
  • Water around the furnace or air handler from a clogged condensate drain
  • Hot and cold spots, or a thermostat that says 72° while some rooms feel much warmer
  • A thermostat that is unresponsive, inaccurate or due for replacement

Repair or Replace Your Furnace or AC?

Repair comes first. A safe, cost-effective fix is always where we start, and replacement only comes up when it is the better long-term call: a cracked heat exchanger, a carbon monoxide risk, a refrigerant leak in an aging coil, or a system that keeps needing repairs. On one recent job our technicians found both a cracked furnace heat exchanger and a refrigerant leak in the indoor AC coil, problems that had developed over time, and replacing the system was the right answer.

When replacement makes sense, we install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps and ductless mini-splits from Trane, Carrier, Lennox and Mitsubishi. Financing is available through Synchrony, including plans with zero interest for a set term. Some installs may also qualify for utility and federal incentives; see our Utah rebates guide, and check our current specials for new system savings.

Seasonal Tune-Ups Prevent Most Breakdowns

A tune-up lets a technician inspect critical components, verify proper operation, check electrical connections and evaluate airflow before a small issue becomes a breakdown. The best time to service your furnace is before the first cold morning, and the best time for your AC is before the first heat wave. Check our current specials for tune-up offers, or read more about HVAC maintenance.

Want maintenance handled year after year? The Aireo Home Care Plan is $20 a month and includes two HVAC visits (a furnace tune-up and an AC tune-up), a plumbing visit with a standard tank water heater flush, and an electrical system evaluation. A separate plan covers boiler systems. Ask us about it when you call or book.

Heating & AC Questions, Answered

How much does HVAC repair cost in Salt Lake City?

Every repair starts with a $49 dispatch fee, which is applied toward approved repairs. After diagnosing the problem we give you a written quote before any work begins, so you know the price up front. Repair costs depend on what is actually wrong, so we don't quote a number sight unseen.

Do you offer emergency heating and AC repair?

Our phones are answered 24/7 and we offer 24/7 dispatch for after-hours emergencies. Standard hours are Monday through Saturday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Call (385) 324-7301.

My AC is running but the house won't cool. What should I check?

Start with the basics: a dirty air filter and debris around the outdoor unit can both restrict airflow, and your outdoor unit should have at least two feet of clearance on all sides. If it still can't keep up, have a technician take a look before a small problem turns into a bigger repair.

Does setting my thermostat to 60° cool my house faster?

No. Your air conditioner cools at the same rate whether it is set to 60° or 72°. A much lower setting just tells the system to keep running until it reaches that temperature.

Why is water dripping near my furnace or AC?

Often it is normal. Air conditioners remove moisture as they cool, and high-efficiency furnaces also produce condensation. That water drains away through small PVC lines. Keep those drain lines and nearby floor drains clear, and call us if water is pooling or the drain looks clogged.

Do you offer financing for a new furnace or AC?

Yes. We offer several financing options through Synchrony, from traditional fixed-interest plans to plans with zero interest over a specific term.

What should I do if I smell gas?

Leave the home right away, avoid switches and flames, and call your gas utility or 911 from outside. Once it is safe, call us for repairs.
