HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical
in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Downtown Salt Lake City, the Avenues, Sugar House and Liberty Wells hold some of the oldest housing in the state: bungalows, Victorians and brick four-squares, many of them a hundred years old. That means equipment you rarely find in newer parts of the valley, including converted gravity furnaces, original boilers, cast iron drain lines and wiring that has been added to for decades.
Systems Built Before Anyone Planned for Today's Equipment
An older home is a different job from a new build. Crawlspaces are tight, basement stairs are narrow, and mechanical rooms were never sized for a modern furnace or water heater. Getting new equipment into an Avenues basement takes planning, and the quote should come from someone who has done it before.
Boilers and radiators
Many homes here still heat with boilers and radiators, and many of those still have good life in them. We handle boiler service and replacement, and we will tell you plainly when a repair is the better value. One customer wrote that Trevor Jensen, our plumbing manager, kept them in the loop and explained why their boiler system was struggling, which is how we like every boiler call to go.
Furnaces and cooling without ductwork
Homes with no ducts or very limited space for them are good candidates for ductless mini-split installation. For homes that do have ducts, see heating and AC, AC repair and tune-ups.
Cast iron, galvanized pipe and old sewer lines
Original cast iron drains corrode from the inside, and galvanized supply lines clog and lose pressure over time. We handle repiping, sewer line repair, drain cleaning, water heater installation and leak response.
Fuse boxes and 100-amp service
Plenty of older homes still run on a 100-amp service or a fuse panel, which struggles with today's loads. We do panel and service upgrades, grounding corrections and electrical safety inspections for older construction.

What a Salt Lake City Visit Costs
A visit starts with a dispatch fee, $29 for plumbing or electrical or $49 for HVAC, applied toward any repair you approve. You get a diagnosis, a written quote and clear options before any work starts, and we don't bill hourly. Historic homes get a lot of advice to rip out original systems, and we only recommend replacement when it is the right long-term call. See our pricing page and current specials.
