Clearfield grew up alongside Hill Air Force Base, and much of that original housing is still standing: well-built tract homes from the 1950s through the 1970s, many now on their second or third furnace and water heater. Those homes were designed for a different household than the ones living in them now.

Was It Built for How You Live Now?

The most common thing we find in these homes is a gap between what the house was built for and what the family uses today. Electrical panels sized for a handful of circuits are now carrying home offices, extra appliances and sometimes an EV. Plumbing is original galvanized pipe that has lost pressure over the years. Many of these homes were also built without central air.

Panels and wiring

Many mid-century homes started with 60-amp or 100-amp service. We handle panel upgrades, EV charger circuits and electrical safety inspections so the system can carry today's loads safely.

Original plumbing

Original galvanized supply lines clog and corrode over time. We inspect first and give you options, from repair to repiping, along with water heater replacement, drain cleaning and sewer repair.

Furnaces and adding central air

Many homeowners here have been told an original furnace has to go, and sometimes that is true. Just as often it has years of safe life left and needs a repair. We tell you which it is before we write a quote. For homes that never had central air, we can look at AC installation on existing ducts or ductless options. See heating and AC, AC repair and tune-ups.

Newer homes near the FrontRunner station

Newer construction near the station has its own needs, mostly tune-ups and first service calls on equipment that has never been looked at.

Clearfield Questions, Answered

My Clearfield home still has its original furnace. Should I replace it?

Not automatically. We check condition, safety and repair history. If it can be repaired safely, we say so, and if replacement is the better value, we will show you why in a written quote.

My house has a 60-amp or 100-amp panel. Is that a problem?

It can be if you are adding an EV charger, a heat pump or many new appliances. We evaluate your actual load and explain whether an upgrade is needed.

My home never had central air. What are my options?

If the house has usable ductwork, central AC may be possible. If not, ductless mini-splits can cool rooms without ducts. We will look at the layout and give you a written quote.

Is galvanized pipe a reason to repipe?

If water pressure is falling, water runs discolored or leaks keep showing up, repiping is often the lasting fix. We inspect first and give you options, including repair where it makes sense.

What does the Aireo Home Care Plan include?

At $20 a month it includes a furnace tune-up, an AC tune-up, a plumbing visit with a standard tank water heater flush and an electrical system evaluation. A separate plan covers boiler systems.
