A tankless water heater heats water as you use it instead of storing and reheating 40 to 50 gallons all day. Done right, it means hot water that does not run out, a smaller footprint and a unit that commonly lasts about twice as long as a tank. Done wrong, or in the wrong house, it is an expensive upgrade that does not pay off. We install both tank and tankless units, so we have no reason to push one over the other.

What You Get With Tankless

Hot water that does not run out

No more cold water halfway through back-to-back showers or a load of laundry. The unit heats on demand, so the limit is how much it can heat at once, which is why sizing matters.

Space back in the mechanical room

A tankless unit mounts on the wall and takes up much less room than a tank, which helps in tight closets and basements.

A longer service life

Tankless units commonly run about 20 years with maintenance, compared with 10 to 12 for a conventional tank. They do need periodic descaling in Utah's hard water, and we offer tankless service to keep them running.

What Decides Whether Tankless Is Right for Your Home

Sizing by flow, not square footage

We size a system to your peak simultaneous hot water demand in gallons per minute. A one-bathroom home running a single shower has very different needs than a house with several bathrooms and a laundry room all in use at once.

Venting and gas supply

Switching from a tank to tankless almost always means new venting, because a tankless unit vents differently. Some homes also need a larger gas line to supply enough heat on demand. We check both before we quote, so there are no surprises once the work starts.

Whether you will stay long enough to benefit

Tankless costs more up front than a tank. It makes the most sense if you regularly run out of hot water, want your closet space back or plan to stay in the home for years. If your household uses little hot water and your tank is working fine, a tank water heater installation or a water heater repair may be the better call, and we will tell you so.

Brands We Install

We are a factory-authorized dealer for Navien and Rinnai, and we install both. Which one we recommend depends on your gas line, venting layout and hot water demand, and we walk you through the tradeoffs on site.

Tankless Water Heater Questions, Answered

Is a tankless water heater worth it?

It can be if you regularly run out of hot water, want to free up space or plan to stay in your home for years. If your hot water use is light and your tank is working, a tank replacement may be the better value. We will tell you which fits.

How long does a tankless water heater last?

About 20 years with maintenance, compared with 10 to 12 years for a conventional tank.

Do I need new venting or a bigger gas line?

Often, yes. Tankless units vent differently than tanks, and some homes need a larger gas line to supply enough heat on demand. We check both before we quote.

How do you size a tankless water heater?

By your peak simultaneous hot water demand in gallons per minute, not by square footage. We look at how many fixtures and appliances run at once.

Does tankless need maintenance in Utah?

Yes. Utah's hard water leaves scale inside the unit, so periodic descaling keeps it running well. We offer tankless service and repair.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, through Synchrony Bank, including 0% plans for qualifying terms. Every job also comes with a written quote before work starts.
